This 8th edition of CSS Day in Amsterdam will include an entire day dedicated to design on the Web, followed by our regular advanced CSS conference on Friday. Our attendees have been working with CSS for years and they know it inside-out. So we always ask our speakers to treat the really geeky CSS stuff – and that’s what you’ll get. Combine this with the design side of things and learn what web browsers can do for your users today, together with 400 other developers and designers!

We believe that diversity is critical in building a healthy community. One of our core goals is to help address the lack of diversity in attendees at conferences. What do we mean by diversity? Ashe Dryden wrote up an excellent blog post following a series of hangouts she held on diversity. http://www.ashedryden.com/blog/increasing-diversity-at-your-conference. We recognize that one barrier to attending conferences is that people may not have the privilege of working at a company that can afford them to attend, are self-employed or students with a limited budget to pay for admissions. We will review all submissions, if selected you will be notified via email. We are awarding a limited amount of scholarship tickets to attend DevOpsDays DFW 2020 conference.

Our technical talks are designed to keep tech leads current - anything from new languages, frameworks and technologies to case studies dealing with common issues such a rapid scaling. We look at tools and processes and ways of working. Finally, we’re thinking about the personal development of an engineering manager and how to continue to grow the key skills needed by an effective and inspirational technical leader.

The Lead Developer was designed with the needs and pain points of technical team leads in mind. We programme each conference around our three key themes of Team, Tech & Tools. The talks are designed to help very practically with common problems in these areas. In our four years we’ve covered everything from leadership to recruitment, team dynamics to imposter syndrome. Our technical talks are designed to keep tech leads current - anything from new languages, frameworks and technologies to case studies dealing with common issues such a rapid scaling. We look at tools and processes and ways of working. Finally, we’re thinking about the personal development of a team lead and how to continue to grow the key skills needed by an effective and inspirational Lead Dev. What we love about running The Lead Developer is the feeling of community. In our audience, we find a total diversity of background, technologies and industries, but a common set of issues. We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to The Lead Developer London 2020. If you’ve been to any of our conferences before, you'll know that you can expect brilliant content and a friendly atmosphere.

**beyond tellerrand** is an independent design and development event established in 2010 and organised by Marc Thiele. Selling out since nearly ten years, it is an event, where creativity and technology meet. Two days – the mein event on April 27th and 28th – with talks about design, technology, development and much more. Networking in a **very friendly and familiar atmosphere** is written in big letters as well. Next to the core event, we have Side Events on 26th and 29th taking place. [beyond tellerrand](https://beyondtellerrand.com/about), the name of my event, is a mix of the English word _“beyond”_ and the German word _“Tellerrand”_, which is the edge of a plate. In Germany you say _“Über den Tellerrand schauen”_ which translates to _“Look over the edge of your plate”_, meaning something like _“Think outside the box”_. That describes the aim of mixing different topics to have (force!) people to not only look at their day by day stuff, but also look left and right. It also is shown in the mix of topics at the event, where quite a lot is about web related stuff (mostly front end or “web design”), but spiced with a lot of interesting and inspiring other stuff too.
