Offline Camp Oregon

Grants Pass, Oregon, USA

**Building the Offline First community, one campfire at a time.** Offline Camp is a unique tech retreat to explore [Offline First](http://offlinefirst.org) development and design. We’re developers interested in making our apps work without constant internet connection. We’re designers exploring UX patterns that maintain user understanding of system state. We are all working on problems that very few have explored before, and we know it will take a wide range of viewpoints to solve the big challenges ahead of us. Offline Camp is an open, participatory event for a small group of 30 campers. Please bring your perspective on Offline First and be willing to share — and listen!

Paris Web 2017

Bois-Colombes (near Paris), France

## English version Each year the Paris-Web non-profit association organizes a 3-day talks and workshops conference in Paris. Paris-Web's goal is to bring more quality to the web development through standards, accessbility, UX design, and design methods. The association's goal is to reach all parts of the web development process: from beginners to experts, from technical people to decision makers, from creative designers to quality specialists. That's why the subjects during the conference are very broad, from design to programming, including project management, so that every participant can get the most out of these 3 days.

GEWINN 1. Fachtag / 1. symposium

Berlin, Germany

The first symposium of the GEWINN project is dedicated to "Agile Software Development". The event will take place on 21st November 2017 in Berlin from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Agile methods are one of the important recent developments in software engineering. From a gender perspective, the values, principles, roles, practices, and artefacts of agile software development hold great potential to promote gender fairness and equality. But the adoption of agile software development can also jeopardize gender fairness: * The roles in agile methods might unintentionally promote gender stereotypes. * The group empowerment that is central to agile methods might backfire when team diversity is low. * Approaches that have been shown to be successful to consider the wide spectrum of target groups from diverse walks of life might be neglected. The symposium aims at ensuring that the chances of agile software development for a gender-fair working environment can take effect. Researchers and practitioners will meet in order to learn from each other in a participatory exchange of knowledge. We focus on the practical transfer of gender knowledge to computer science and IT companies. At the same time, gender researchers can gain insight into the everyday life of agile software development in the corporate world. You can count on exciting lectures and expert talks on the subject area "Agile". Our workshop sessions offer a chance to discuss the topics with experts in small groups.
